Fall-into-Winter Wardrobe: Warmer Climate Edition

The dreaded shift from sun and sandals, to long sleeves and plummeting temperatures has rolled around once again.

For most, the change in seasons is much anticipated as countless northern states across the country await the chilling temperatures and look forward to bundling up. However, warmer states just can't relate as they instead look forward to pulling out their light outerwear in an attempt to enjoy their rendition of crisp fall-into-winter weather.

Here are three top trendy items and tips that can be incorporated into your wardrobe this season:

Layer Up

While those up north can tell you a thing or two about bundling up, this same idea can be applied for those in warmer states. Instead of dragging on multiple inner layers to weather the cold, try slipping on a tank top or long sleeve shirt and layering this with a sweater or lightweight trench coat on top. You in turn get the satisfaction of rocking a warm outfit while avoiding that gross, stuffy feeling.

Staple Jackets are Everything

Take your outfit from drab to fab with the addition of a lightweight jacket. This is perfect to throw on while you are on-the-go. Styles can range from leather, faux fur, or denim while also

including sequins, beads or lace. When selecting a piece, aim for more neutral or muted colors that embody winter, and save the brights for summertime.

Booties Not Boots

There is no need to invest in a pair of tall, knee-high boots to keep warm. With the absence of snow and temperatures being fairly cool, the ideal choice that embodies southern style is a pair

of booties. As fellow lifestyle website Nubry.com puts it, “The weather is toe-friendly, so go all out when you search for a pair of peep-toe, caged, or lace-up booties.” For added warmth on those occasional chilly days, put on a pair of stockings, thigh-high socks, or patterned tights to spice up the look.

It's way easier than you think. A puffer jacket, gloves, and fur boots won’t be necessary, but a little creative thinking and a handful of style tricks could go a long way.
